The El Hogar Filipino Building, or simply known as “El Hogar” was among the early structures built in Manila. Located at the corner of Muelle dela Industria and Juan Luna Street in Binondo, it stand tall beside another important structure known as the First National City Bank Building alongside Pasig River. Designed by Ramon Irureta-Goyena and Francisco Perez-Muñoz, it reflects a Beaux-Arts architecture, a neoclassical architectural style they learned at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

At the moment, the building’s title belongs to a private company that plans to demolish the building. Efforts have been pursued by heritage advocates to save the building as it is still unclear what will happen then.

It was inaugurated on September 14, 1914, marking its 106th birthday in 2020.
